Name: Villa Jolanda Variety: Moscato the Blue, sparkling Region: N/A Country: Italy Year: N/A Price: $10.95 Store/wine critic/winery review: The nose has the scent of ripe peaches. It is sweet with peach apricot and floral notes on the palate. My review: This wine smelled sweet like hibiscus and peaches! It was incredibly sweet and tasted like peaches with floral notes of hibiscus. It was a sparkling wine and tasted like sweet soda! Oh, and did I mention it's blue? The magic of food coloring. It was really something. I didn’t buy a bottle of it for fear of judgement but honestly, I would go back to buy a bottle. I tasted this wine without food.

Tasting—Skyfall

Name: Skyfall Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon Region: Columbia Valley, Washington Country: USA Year: 2015 Price: $9.95 Store/wine critic/winery review: Inviting aromas of boysenberry, vanilla and dark chocolate swirl in the glass. Rich flavors of ripe black cherry coupled with hints of crème brulée sugar crust and butterscotch weave through the palate. Balanced acidity and polished tannins on the finish. My review: This wine smelled like blueberries and plums. It tasted FUNKY. There were very earthy flavors (though I have never tasted tree bark or moss I SWEAR that it would taste like this wine. I like camping but like, I don’t want to eat dirt so how much I liked this). This wine was very tannic on the finish—it would probably be better with food. I tasted this wine without food.

Tasting—Tres Ojos

Name: Tres Ojos Variety: Garnacha Region: Calatayud Country: Spain Year: 2013 Price: $6.95 Store/wine critic/winery review: Bright purple. Blackberry, plum and peppery spice aromas exhibit good vibrancy and power. Firm cherry and dark berry flavors are subtly accented by a peppery nuance, picking up a hint of licorice with air. A candied plum note lingers on the warm finish, which is firmed by gentle tannins. My review: This wine smelled very sweet and spicy—it was jammy with plums with subtle touches of oak. The wine itself tasted very oaky and smoky, it had the taste of berries and cherries. It had some tannins but was not overpowering. It had a smooth finish. I tasted this wine without food.
